I don’t think I’ll be flying a Delta flight when I travel. Delta has issued an apology, but it sounds like typical corporate-speak. If the soldiers’ travel orders dictate 4 bags, it shouldn’t matter which class of ticket they have – and I’m sure Delta isn’t in the habit of upgrading soldiers to first class, anyway…

Free Barnstormers Tickets
Sign up for free tickets to the fourth annual Salute to Veterans day at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
The event will be held May 26, with the pregame activities starting at 5:30 p.m. Bear expects to have about 1,100 tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each veteran is entitled to two tickets along with free parking and Barnstormer Bucks, which can be used to purchase food and drinks at the game. Tickets can be obtained by calling Bear’s office at 626-1776 or online at www.repbear.com.The Barnstormers will play the York Revolution at 6:30 p.m.
The pregame show will be emceed by retired WGAL Channel 8 news anchor Dick Hoxworth and will feature the Valley Forge Military Academy Marching Band and Washington Memorial Pipe Band.
Also performing will be the Pennsylvania National Guard Color Guard, Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard, the Marine Corps League Lancaster Detachment and combined color guards from Lititz Springs VFW Post 1463, Garden Spot American Legion Post 56 from Lititz and the American Legion Post 34 from Manheim Township. The color guards will be under the command of Maj. Luis Mendoza.
Boy Scout troops from Lititz Borough and Warwick Township will unfurl a large American flag.
Special guest will be 11-year-old Jordan Brown, the South Lebanon Elementary School fifth-grader whose “Hang Tough” project has raised thousands of dollars to help erect a statue in St. Marie du Mont, France, honoring Lancaster native Maj. Richard Winters.The first 400 veterans to sign up also will be treated to a free movie May 28 at Penn Cinema. The event will include two free tickets, a free continental breakfast at the theater at 7:30 a.m., followed at 8 a.m. by the film “Valkyrie,” starring Tom Cruise, which is about the failed attempt to kill Adolf Hitler launched buy German army officers in 1944.

BBC Seeking Wounded Warriors
Do you want to get involved in a fun and challenging project for British television? Can you give two British teenagers the chance to have some much-needed structure in their lives?
The British Broadcasting Corporation is looking for American parents with disabilities who have children aged 12-20 years to take part in the 4th season of its series on parenting.
We want to showcase a strong, loving family who are proud of their values, who believe in boundaries and bringing out the best in their kids.
In each one hour episode, two British teenagers will be sent to live with a family abroad to experience life in their culture and under their rule to see how their lives may be enriched and challenged.
We are excited to represent people with disabilities on a prime time UK T.V. show who are there because of their ability (being great parents) rather than their disability. We hope you do too and can’t wait hear from you.

Team American Spirit Parade
The parade will take place on Saturday, April 30th. Step off is at 1:00 pm. The reviewing stand is on Buchanan Ave. and the Parade will end on Race Avenue. The parade is to honor the Veterans (Past, Present, & Future) and all First Responders (Police, Fire, & EMS).
Featured in the parade will be the 2nd Division United States Marine Corp Band, Smith Balloons (Same guy who supplies Macy’s), and the Cresent Motorcycle Drill Team from New Jersey. There will also be a concert in the park by the Marine Band, about 30 minutes after the parade (to set-up). Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket, and enjoy the music.
If you would like to help contribute to the American Spirit Parade, print the American Spirit Parade Isaacs Flyer, fill it out, and bring it to the Isaac’s on Centerville Road, as we are doing a fundraiser Tomorrow, March 29th from 5-9pm. The flyer is good for dine-in or take-out. With this flyer, Team American Spirit will get 25% of the total bill.
