Mark Your Calendars!

We’ve got a number of events coming up that are worth noting. First, the Entertainment Committee has put together another rocking night out at the pavilion, this time featuring the hopping tunes of the Beach Boys! Check out the calendar for more details!

In August, we’ll be having another Chicken BBQ and hosting a busload of veterans from the Coatesville VA Hospital for a free chicken dinner and bingo. Details for that area also on the calendar!

Glen M. Gardner Jr., the National Commander, met with President Barack Obama on July 1st to discuss matter pertaining to veterans. The meeting was reported on by the national VFW site:

The national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. met with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office this morning to discuss issues important to America’s veterans, service members and their families.

The front of the Margarita line, that is! Here are some of the pictures from the Margaritaville night at the post. A great time was had by all, and it is a certainty the entertainment committee will be drawing up plans for more Margaritaville nights!

This Friday (June 26th, 2009), join your fellow members as we transform Millersville to Margaritaville!

From 5:30-8:30pm, we’ll be hosting a Margarita party out in the pavilion free for all post members and their guests. We’ll have a DJ, pony bottle buckets, horsehoes, and a great deal of fun!

Priority Group 8 Enrollment Relaxation Changes

From the National HQ:

VA eligibility rules changed on June 15, 2009, making it easier for more Veterans to enroll in VA’s health care system. Under this new regulation, VA relaxed income restrictions on enrollment for health benefits. While this new provision does not remove consideration of income, it does increase income thresholds.
