WE HOPE EVERYONE HAD A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING! DECEMBER IS WELL UNDERWAY, SO LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT SANTA IS DELIVERING IN HIS SLEIGH!

In case you haven’t heard, our VFW now has Cornhole on Tuesdays! Doors open at 6 pm in the Banquet Hall and bags go flying at 7 pm! It’s $20/person, but if you’re a new player, your first time is only $5! This is opened to the public! Food and cash bar available. *CORNHOLE WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 10th NEXT WEEK, BUT WILL GO BACK TO TUESDAYS AFTER THAT!*

DID SOMEONE YELL BINGO? HOPEFULLY IT WAS YOU!

Who loves Bingo? Who enjoys supporting the VFW? Well….you can do what you love all the while supporting our club! Come play Meat Tray Bingo in the canteen on Sunday December 14th! Doors open at 12 pm and Bingo begins at 1 pm! Members and guests are welcomed, and you may bring a dish along to share with everyone as our kitchen is not opened on Sundays! Come try your luck at winning some quality meat packages, which will come in handy during your cooking for the holiday!

IT’S THE GAME THAT KEEPS YOU GUESSING AND THE HOSTS THAT KEEP YOU ENTERTAINED! COME ON OUT AND PLAY SOME TRIVIA!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way! Oh what fun we have at Trivia Night when the players guess away! We invite our members and their guests to come to Trivia Night on Wednesday December 17th beginning at 6:00 pm! The theme will be Christmas! All things holly and jolly so gear on up! MC Kayla and her right-hand HB will serve up your entertainment, and you won’t be disappointed! 

IN JUST A FEW SHORT WEEKS, CHRISTMAS WILL BE HERE! SO LET’S GET JOLLY AND SPREAD THE CHEER! HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW!

Our Christmas Eve party will take place on December 24th from 4-6 pm. Our members and guests are invited to come spend time with us before Santa Clause comes that night! (Reminder- our kitchen is CLOSED that evening).

AND TO WRAP UP DECEMBER, IT’S OUR HIGHLY ANTICIPATED….

FAMILY AND FRIENDS CHRISTMAS PARTY!

HO HO HO! DID YOU HEAR THAT?!  Santa Claus must be coming to town…and he of course is stopping at our VFW! We invite our members and their guests, along with the children and grandchildren, to our Family and Friends Christmas Party with Santa in the banquet hall from 6 pm- 8 pm! Santa will arrive at 7 pm and will visit with the children, where they will have the oppotunity to come sit on his lap, take a picture and received their special gift! We will also have food and games as well as the infamous raffle prize table! Here is what you need to know:

• If you want to sign up your child to receive a gift, please write down the name of the child(ren), age(s) and 3 interests/gift ideas and GIVE IT TO THE BARTENDER IN THE CANTEEN. She will ensure the child’s name gets put into the basket to receive a gift! Names must be submitted no later than December 20th!
• Members – once we start receiving sign-ups, we encourage you to pick a name from the basket in the canteen and that will be the child you purchase a gift for ($25.00 spending cap – gift will be from “Santa”) PLEASE PUT NAME OF CHILD ON THE GIFT – MAKE SURE IT IS WRAPPED OR IN A GIFT BAG. GIFTS MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE VFW NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 23RD!
• There will also be fun for the adults too! We will do a Secret Santa gift exchange, which will take place at the conclusion of our Family and Friends Christmas Party around 8 pm. Feel free to put your name in the basket in the canteen. If you submit your name, you must pick a name to purchase a gift for! Gift value of $25.
• There are 2 sign-ups in the canteen. One is for food – our kitchen is CLOSED for this event, so we encourage members and their guests to bring a dish to share with everyone! Thank you to those who already signed up! The other is for VOLUNTEERS – we need a few volunteers to run very simple games as well as to watch over food and help out with that station! Please consider signing up, it is only for 2 hours! 
• Our raffle prize table has been a hit every year! If you are interested, we would gladly accept new toy donations for that prize table! Our goal is that every child gets a gift as well from this table!

Cornhole premieres TONIGHT at the VFW! It is opened to the public, no membership required! $20.00 per person! If you are a new player, it is only $5.00 for you to play! Doors open at 6:00 pm and the game kicks off at 7:00 pm. Food and cash bar available! CORNHOLE WILL TAKE PLACE EVERY TUESDAY MOVING FORWARD!

We invite our members and their guests to the canteen this upcoming Sunday November 23rd @ 4:25 pm for the Eagles vs. Cowboys game! But that’s not the only thing! We are also hosting our 2nd Annual CHILI COOK OFF! Members and guests are eligible to enter and there will be prizes awarded to the top 3! Winners will be announced at halftime! We can’t wait to taste what you all cooked up!

THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY IS ALREADY NEXT WEEK AND WE CANNOT BELIEVE IT! BEFORE THE BIG TURKEY DAY, COME SPEND TIME WITH US!

‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving and all through the Post, people laughed and carried on with the ones they care about most! Our FRIENDSGIVING will be on Wednesday November 26th starting at 5:00 pm. Our kitchen will be closed, but there will be a delicious spread for our members and their guests to come and enjoy! There will be turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, baked corn, stuffing and so much more! Thank you so much to those who signed up to bring a dish to share! Sign-ups are still in the canteen if you’re interested in bringing something yummy along! We will also have our TRIVIA NIGHT that evening too, from 6-8 pm! Come have fun with your hosts MC Kayla and her right-hand HB! Let’s all spend some time together and give thanks and appreciation for one another!

We invite our members and their families to the canteen on Wednesday November 26th (Thanksgiving Eve) starting at 5 pm for our annual FRIENDSGIVING! Just like years prior, we invite everyone to bring a dish to share! There are sign-ups in the canteen for you to let everyone know what you plan on bringing! Please consider bringing something to share! The VFW will be providing the turkeys, mashed potatoes and gravy, along with corn! Our kitchen will be closed that evening since we will have an abundance of delicious food to share with everyone! 

In addition, Wednesday November 26th is also TRIVIA NIGHT in the canteen! DJ MC Kayla and her right hand HB return to test your knowledge on all things related to Thanksgiving! Come play along from 6-8 pm while you enjoy the company of all of our amazing staff, officers and members!

IT IS TRUNK OR TREAT WEEK!!! WE ARE SO EXCITED!! HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

• Trunk or Treat is THIS THURSDAY OCTOBER 23rd from 6 – 8 pm
• We will have over 50 decorated trunks, fire and police department vehicles, a hayride, games, face painting and food!
• Did we mention there is going to be A LOT A LOT A LOT OF CANDY! So come ready to fill up those buckets and bags!

• If you’d like to bring a food dish to add to our food table, please feel free too! We will provide hot dogs, juices and chips! 
• If you are free tomorrow evening (6-8 pm) and would like to help out during the Trunk or Treat, we are still accepting volunteers! (Everything we would ask you to help with is EASY!)
• Please pay attention to parking attendants outside. AS A REMINDER, THE SMALL PARKING LOT IS PARKING FOR OUR VFW MEMBERS ONLY – NOT PUBLIC PARKING.
• The large banquet hall parking lot is where the trunks will be! There will be parking attendants outside to line up the cars. IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING AND DECORATED YOUR TRUNK, PLEASE ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 5:30 PM! YOU MAY ARRIVE AS EARLY AS YOU WOULD LIKE! (From previous years, we tend to start a few minutes before 6 pm because there will already be a line!)

Friday nights at the VFW are where you want to be! As a reminder, non- members will pay $3.00 to play! We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing everyone Friday night!

Following Music Bingo this Friday night around 8/8:30 pm, we will decorate our Parade Float outside in the banquet hall parking lot! If you’d like to help us, we would appreciate all hands on deck! 

Since we are decorating Friday night, WE WILL NO LONGER NEED TO MEET AT 5:30 AM ON SATURDAY OCTOBER 4th (PARADE DAY)! IF YOU ARE WALKING/RIDING WITH US IN THE PARADE, PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE VFW NO LATER THAN 6:45-6:50 AM SO THAT WE MAY LEAVE PROMPTLY AT 7:00 AM TO HEAD OVER TO THE HIGH SCHOOL TO LINE UP! *YOU MAY ALSO JUST MEET US AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AS WELL*

If you would like, you may bring candy to pass out along our route during the parade! HIGHLY ENCOURAGED-THE KIDS LOVE IT AND LOOK FORWARD TO IT EACH YEAR!

We will provide breakfast back at the Post in the canteen for those who participated in the parade! 

IN JUST 2 WEEKS, TRIVIA RETURNS TO THE CANTEEN AND WE CANNOT CONTAIN OUR EXCITEMENT!

Don’t miss Trivia on Wednesday October 15th from 6-8 pm in the canteen! DJ MC Kayla and her right hand HB will be back to stump you (no the questions will not be as hard as last time- we heard your concerns!) 4 rounds of Trivia, 10 questions each round, great prizes and even better entertainment! We can’t wait to see you there! Plus it’s Wing night as well, need I say more??

Meat Tray Bingo will be in the canteen on Sunday October 19th! Doors open at 12 pm and Bingo starts at 1 pm! We encourage everyone to bring a dish to share! There are some great meat packages up for grabs, so come play! This is opened to our members and their guests!

TRUNK OR TREAT IS THIS MONTH! MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INFORMATION! WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDY DONATIONS, VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH GAMES AND FOOD, VOLUNTEERS TO BRING FOOD, AND OF COURSE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO DECORATE THEIR TRUNKS AND HAND OUT CANDY! DON’T MISS OUR BIGGEST COMMUNITY EVENT OF THE SEASON–

THURSDAY OCTOBER 23RD 6-8 PM!

Our annual Trunk or Treat is back for its 3rd year, and we are ecstatic to bring the community another amazing event! We invite families and children of all ages to come on out to TRUNK OR TREAT at our Post! There will be LOTS of candy, decorated trunks, police and fire department vehicles, face painting, a hayride, games, food and did we mention CANDY CANDY CANDY!!! Costumes are highly encouraged but not mandatory! We are so excited to see the community come out and have fun with us! Here’s some things to know:

-If you are interested in decorating your trunk and handing out candy, there will be a sign up genius link posted on our Facebook and at the bottom of this event description! Click on the link and sign up! Very easy! *There will be an award for the best decorated trunk (as voted on by the community) so we cannot wait to see the creativity you all bring!*

-If you simply want to come and trunk or treat and enjoy the activities, there is no need to sign up for that—-just come on out!

-There are sign-up sheets located in our Post in our canteen for the following: volunteers to help with parking, volunteers to help run some games inside the banquet hall, volunteers to help watch over food and replenish when necessary, and volunteers to bring some food in to share with everyone! Please consider signing up for one of these- we need all hands on deck! LET’S GET THOSE NAMES ON THE SIGN UP LIST! IT’S JUST 2 HOURS OF YOUR TIME!

-We are currently accepting candy donations. If you have participated in prior years, our amazing members donate candy to our Post so that we are able to replenish the trunks when and if they run out of candy (our stockpile every year is so great and definitely gets utilized, I have always had to use it all to replenish our trunks—we want to ensure everyone has plenty of candy!) So, if you are able to donate candy, we would gladly appreciate it! Just drop it off at the canteen or contact McKayla Herman at 717-693-3357 to arrange pickup! *PLEASE PLEASE DONATE CANDY!!*
